Ingenica 's UniPrint server-based printing functionality will be in the next version of Propalms Terminal Server Edition (TSE). By integrating UniPrint in to TSE, Propalms will now be able to provide its users with the anytime, anywhere printing functionality of Ingenica's solution, the companies announced.

Ingenica, a Toronto-based division of Bell Business Solutions, a Bell Canada Company, provides printing solutions for the server-based computing community.

Ingenica 's UniPrint solution will enable Propalms TSE users to replace all manufacturers' printer drivers with a single PDF generator at the terminal server to make it simple to print documents from any location to any accessible printer, irrespective of manufacturer - not only eliminating printer compatibility issues and printer-related help-desk costs, but also simplifying print driver management within server-based environments. Also, as UniPrint's PDF file is substantially smaller than other printing formats, TSE users will benefit from an up to 90 percent reduction in printer bandwidth utilization - resulting in higher server stability, improved application performance, and faster, more efficient printing.

With demand increasing to over 5000 licenses a month, Propalms TSE is designed to enable any-sized organization to maximize the benefits of a Microsoft Terminal Server deployment in Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003. Easily scalable to accommodate growing systems securely, reliably, and cost-effectively, Propalms TSE leverages the most recent enhancements of Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), to add enhanced management capabilities, such as enhanced security for Internet-based application access; load balancing for managing larger numbers of users, applications, and servers; and policy-based application management services to ensure appropriate access at the user level.

"Propalms is excited that Ingenica 's UniPrint server-based printing technology will be included within Propalms TSE," said Owen Dukes, CEO, Propalms. "Propalms TSE has always enabled organizations to access and manage information, data, and applications across virtually all platforms, networks, and devices, and with the addition of Ingenica's UniPrint solution Propalms continues to provide a best-of-breed solution."

"Like UniPrint, Propalms TSE is designed to meet all the functionality requirements of server-based users at an unmatched price. Ingenica is proud to have been selected as the server-based printing solution of choice by Propalms," said Arron Fu, Vice President, Software Development, Ingenica Division. "Everybody has experienced the frustration of not being able to print a document because they do not have the correct manufacturer's driver for the available printer, but by adding UniPrint to its next-generation solution, Propalms will eliminate this compatibility issue by making it simple for TSE users to print documents on any available printer in any location."

Ingenica 's UniPrint, the complete printing solution for the increasingly-mobile server-based enterprise workforce, replaces all manufacturers' printer drivers with a single PDF generator that not only makes it simple for a user to successfully print documents from any available device, significantly reducing printer-related help-desk costs, but also works with existing printing hardware and computing architectures to reduce bandwidth consumption by as much as 90 percent - promoting faster, more efficient printing that enables organizations to improve both productivity and ROI.
