Ottawa's International Datacasting Corporation will provide 400 DVB-S2 receivers to Access Integrated Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of digital cinema software and services.

In conjunction with the Christie/AIX turnkey digital cinema deployment, AccessIT enable simultaneous broadcast delivery of feature films, advertisements, and alternative content to theatre locations across the United States and Canada.

DVB-S2 is the latest breakthrough in broadband satellite technology providing higher orders of modulation and forward error correction-offering a choice of bandwidth savings or higher speed delivery in the order of 30-40% over previous levels. The SRA3100 can be used for both file-based content and live events.

B. Scott Cassell, Chief Technology Officer of AccessIT's Digital Media Services Division commented, "We selected IDC's receivers after rigorous testing. The ability to support industrial strength encryption and conditional access while meeting the demanding throughput and performance requirements was key. We have very been pleased with the performance of the product and the level of support we have received from IDC."

IDC President and CEO Ron Clifton commented, "This is a great project for us. Digital cinema is an exciting market, ideally-suited to satellite delivery. Ultra-reliable and secure distribution of broadband content-streams and files-is where we excel. We are pleased to be part of this innovative product offering and look forward to supporting AccessIT as it grows and expands."

AccessIT provides fully integrated software and services to enable the motion picture entertainment industry and all of its constituents to transition from film to digital cinema. The company's Theatrical Distribution System software and electronic satellite delivery services provide studios and content owners with a seamless entry into the digital era while its vendor neutral Theatre Command Center and Exhibitor Management System provide exhibitors with all the tools needed to transition to digital cinema.

IDC provides advanced products, systems and services for the implementation of broadband wireless infrastructure networks used to distribute broadband multimedia data. IDC is at the forefront of delivering IP-based datacasting solutions via satellite and content distribution technologies with installations in more than 100 countries worldwide. IDC's products are in demand for radio and television broadcast networks, enterprise networks, distance learning, digital signage, digital cinema, high-speed Internet infrastructure and other multimedia content distribution applications. IDC is a recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Canada Export Award for Innovation and Technology Achievement.

IDC is headquartered in Ottawa, ON, and operates in Europe through its subsidiary PROFline B.V. in Arnhem, the Netherlands and has an established international network of value-added partners and distributors.
